Main Goals - General activities - field of expertise
Sustainable buildings and construction is at the heart of ENERGIES 2050's core activities. The association is a key member of several initiatives such as the Global Initiatives for Resource Efficient Cities (GI-REC) and UNEP Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI), is part of the member advisory committee (MAC) of the Sustainable Buildings and Construction programme of the UN's 10YFP and has cofounded, with the Institute of la Francophonie for Sustainable Development, subsidiary organ of the International Organization of la Francophonie, the Initiative of la Francophonie for Sustainable Cities. The association for example implemented, within the framework of this initiative, training sessions for building professionals and workshops on sustainable buildings in several African countries. ENERGIES 2050 is also implementing several European Project (Horizon 2020, Energy Intelligent Europe, Erasmus +) such as neZEH (near Zero Energy Hotel), Trust EPC South (focusing on energy performance contracts in the tertiary sector) and ENERFUND (Energy retrofit funding rating tool). The NGO gives lectures on sustainable buildings and the energy transition in several institutions and universities.
